HA NOI — The national conference on implementing the Resolution of the fourth session of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee (CPVCC) closed in Ha Noi after three days of sitting.
During the event, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong addressed urgent issues in Party building and gave guidance on the Party Central Committee's fourth session's Resolution and the Politburo's instruction.
The Party leader praised participants' serious working attitude and solemn sense of responsibility. He said they had reached consensus on the purposes and significance of the Resolution and had focused on a plan for its effective implementation.
The participants have clarified its key content and have affirmed their determination to bring the Resolution to life.
During the last three days, people communicated their thoughts on the conference through the media, expressing their desire to build and strengthen the Party by fighting the degradation of political ideology and morals of a number of officials, Party members, and even some senior officials. They also said they wished to overcome the inadequacies found both in personnel work and in the regulation of criticism and self-criticism.
Trong said these issues needed full and deep analysis in order to effectively implement the Party Central Committee's fourth resolution.
Firstly, he said, information dissemination should be carried out steadily and in line with the Politburo's plan.
Secondly, criticism and self-criticism are extremely important and leaders must regularly practice criticism and self-criticism, starting at the highest levels of the Party.
Thirdly, the Party and State need to pay more attention to personnel work in order to select a line-up of officials with good morals and talent to meet the requirements of this new period. — VNS
