HA NOI — Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan received a delegation in Ha Noi yesterday from the friendship association of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Viet Nam which is on a visit to Viet Nam during February 19-26.
Doan said the two countries boasted a fine tradition of friendship which had been fostered by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il-Sung and survived many challenges of history.
She praised the past efforts of the friendship association in contributing to the development of the relationship between the two countries, and she expressed her belief that the friendship would continue to be promoted for the benefit of the two peoples and for peace and stability in the region and the world.
On behalf of the delegation, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's ambassador to Viet Nam, Kim Chang-il, who is also a senior advisor to the friendship association, expressed gratitude for the support and assistance his nation has received from the Vietnamese people.
