KIEN GIANG — Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung paid a Tet visit to Infantry Battalion 207 of southern Kien Giang Province military command on Friday.
During his visit, Dung said that Vietnamese people shed their blood for the country's independence and freedom and urged the cadres and soldiers of Infantry Battalion 207 to enhance their heroic tradition and to be worthy of the Party and nation's trust.
In the context of national construction and protection, the battalion should strive to fulfil the tasks assigned by the Party and people, he said.
Earlier, Dung laid a wreath at the provincial War Martyrs' Cemetery and burnt incense to commemorate fallen soldiers in Ha Tien Town.
On the same day, PM Dung visited an industrial shrimp farm in Giang Thanh District. This previously abandoned area has rebounded to attract many enterprises interested in shrimp farming.
The Prime Minister also visited Phu My High School which opened to 500 students late last year.
Over the past several days, Party and State leaders paid Tet visits to agencies, companies and enterprises who enjoyed excellent performances in their fields during the previous year. — VNS
