VN, Mexico bid to boost ties to meet potential

HA NOI — Viet Nam and Mexico should enhance their relationship in various fields to match the two countries' potential, said President Truong Tan Sang.

At a reception held for President of the Mexican Senate Jose Gonzalez Morfin in Ha Noi yesterday, President Sang expressed his belief that Viet Nam-Mexico relations would soon reach a new height and the two countries would continue to support each other in international and regional forums.

He also affirmed that Mexico would be a stop during his upcoming tour to Latin America.

For his part, Mexican Senate President Morfin spoke highly of Viet Nam's role and position in international and regional forums and said he hoped Viet Nam would back Mexico to take part in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement.

Morfin and his entourage wrapped up their three-day official visit to Viet Nam yesterday evening. — VNS
