PNJ opens seven jewelry stores in December


With its feet firmly on the pedal while pursuing a sustainable business strategy of continuing to lead the market and dominate the markets share, the Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) has simultaneously opened 7 jewelry stores in 6 provinces just this December.

It can be said that this is a record set by PNJ in its network development pace. The simultaneous opening of stores and expansion of the distribution system shows that PNJ's strategy still focuses on its core business. Besides, it indicates that PNJ is grasping well the bullish development of the jewelry market and cleverly taking the lead in tapping the aggressive shopping trend of consumers on peak days like Christmas, Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day.

Most newly-opened stores of PNJ are located in the centers with gorgeous, modern spaces hosting all types of jewelry including gold, diamond, gems and silver. With the prestige and reputation of being the country’s leading jewelry brand with high-quality, sophisticated products, PNJ has been able to attract a large number of customers in new markets.

PNJ Thanh Hoa Jewelry Center opened on December 19. Within the morning of the opening date, the store received a lot of customers coming for shopping.

In tandem with the PNJ Thanh Hoa Jewelry Center, six stores in five other provinces and cities were also opened: PNJ Co.op Thot Not - Can Tho (December 9), PNJ Aeon Binh Duong (December 15), PNJ Vincom Long Thanh (December 20), PNJ Di An (December 24), PNJ Vincom Bac Tu Liem (December 24) and PNJ Kien Giang.

So, by the year end, PNJ had 218 stores in nearly 50 provinces and cities. At this development pace, the company has affirmed its position as the only jewelry company in Vietnam with a large, nationwide distribution system.

In addition to constantly expanding its distribution system, PNJ also pays special attention to the human resources training, especially sales staff.  Training courses aim at improving customer serviced and operations, following the motto “I commit to serve the best” to live up to the mission of “Bringing pride to customers with sophisticated jewelry products of outstanding quality”.

Top quality commitment

The store network expansion activity in the year also made great contribution to the business results of PNJ in the first 11 months of the year. Total revenue in this period was VND 7,682 billion, up 9% year-on-year. Revenues from retail jewelry alone rose 28% year on year. This result helped raise the gross profit of the Company to VND 1,247 billion, up 24% over 2015. Pre-tax profits rose  132% year-on-year to VND 561 billion, exceeding the plan for 2016 by 22%.

Not satisfied with current results, PNJ has continued to deploy many new programmes for Xmas 2016, New Year 2017, Valentines Day 2017 and similar occasions. The company plans to launch a series of new jewelry collections together with attractive promotion programs from PNJ gold brands, including thousands of practical gifts to customers, including PNJ’s high-grade calendar blocks, PNJ jewelry boxes, vouchers or sales-off program of up to 30%, PNJ Silver fashionable pillows and accessories.
