Toyota grants scholarships

Toyota Motor Vietnam today (November 1) granted 115 scholarships worth a total of VNĐ690 million (US$30,000) to excellent students at universities. Each scholarship is about VNĐ6 million (nearly $300).

VĨNH PHÚC — Toyota Motor Vietnam on November 1 granted 115 scholarships worth a total of VNĐ690 million (US$30,000) to excellent students at universities.

Each scholarship is about VNĐ6 million (nearly $300).

The programme aims to encourage the students to contribute to human resource development in Việt Nam, said Toru Kinoshita, president of TMV.

“Toyota is aware of its responsibilities to contribute to sustainable development of society, particularly eduction and human resources," Kinoshita said.

During the last 21 years, TMV has granted 2,153 scholarships worth nearly VNĐ7 billion each to excellent technical and environment students nationwide.

The company also grants scholarships for young, musically talented Vietnamese and holds Toyota Dream Car Art Contests and many other programmes. — VNS
