Rose-themed artwork at the ongoing festival in Hà Nội’s Reunification park

HÀ NỘI — Journalist-turned-artist Nguyễn Thu Thủy brings her 10 installation works to the ’Bulgarian Rose Festival with Friends’ on an island in Thống Nhất (Reunification) Park.

The works include a heart made of 5,000 red roses and 1,000 white roses at the centre of the island.

At the foot of the giant heart of roses, she has made a painting with colourful gravels of a heart and the words “I Love You.”.

A giant 3.5m-high red rose has been erected by the lake — the branch is made of metal while the bloom is made of clay.

Other metal frames in the shapes of Long Biên Bridge, a sailing boat and bicycle decorated with roses are the background for photo shoots by visitors at the event.

The festival continues until March 8. — VNS
