Next week: What should one do when facing the possibility of the community "throwing stones"?

Việt Nam’s diva Mỹ Linh faced a severe community reaction after she talked about the issue of safe food at a seminar on the same issue last month. At the event, she said safe food can’t be cheap, and people should’t expect it to be cheap.

Many people jumped in and critised the singer. Some were of the opinion that Linh wasn’t thinking about poor people who can’t afford expensive food, and that even poor people have the right to eat safe food.

Linh was of course upset by the reaction. She said she felt "insulted".

In fear of facing a community "throwing stones", newly crowned Miss Việt Nam Đỗ Mỹ Linh decided to delete her Facebook page as soon as she was granted the title.

’Throwing stones’ has become like a trend on social networks in Việt Nam. What are your opinions on when the community irrationally ’throws stones’ at a celebrity, public figure or at anyone for something they did? Are there similar situations in your country? What should one do when faced with such situation?
