The Formosa Hà Tĩnh Steel Corporation officially apologised yesterday afternoon to the Vietnamese Government and people for killing tonnes of fish in the central coastal provinces since early April. The company has promised to pay US$500 million in compensation to Vietnamese people.

Do you think the compensation is enough to remedy negative impacts on the marine environment? For developing countries like Việt Nam, what in your opinion should be given first priority in protecting the environment?
