Viet Nam News wants to hear from you

You Asked, published on Tuesdays, gives readers an opportunity to ask – and Viet Nam News to answer – questions from visitors or expatriates.

Your Say, published every Friday, enables readers to express opinions on a topic or issue raised by the editor.

This week:

Foreign passengers on connection flights or transit at international seaports will be allowed to stay in Viet Nam for up to 15 days instead of the current five from August 14, according to new Ministry of Public Security regulations.

The application procedure for the new US$5 transit permits, which are much cheaper than tourist visas, will be simple, timesaving, economic and conducted by travel agents on tourists' behalf.

Chairman of the Viet Nam Travel Association Vu The Binh said that the move is aimed at attracting more transit tourists, reported to remain very few, to Viet Nam.

How do you welcome the new regulations?

Do you usually break up your journey in order to spend several days on transit tours? What type of travel services do you expect during your temporary stay?

Where in Viet Nam do you plan to go given 15 days? What should travel agents do to attract more tourists?
