THUA THIEN-HUE — Wild animal experts from HCM City yesterday afternoon were forced to shoot a bull with a tranquilliser dart that was suspected of killing a person near Phu Bai International Airport in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, said deputy director of the Airport Authority, Le Van Loc.
The airport was reopened at 6pm yesterday afternoon being closed for a day.
The Provincial Forest Protection Department is looking at ways to transport the 1.5 tonne animal to a local forest away from the public, but it died from unknown complications during transit.
On Monday, witnesses claimed to have seen the bull running towards the airport. The bull, which was estimated to be twice as big as usual, was believed to have killed an 85-year-old local woman.
Police are investigating the woman's death. .— VNS
