Three students drown in Phu Yen province river

PHU YEN — Three students drowned on Sunday after swimming in Binh Ba River in the central province of Phu Yen.

Five students from Tuy An District's secondary school were swept into a deep part of the river and only two survived.

The dangerous section of the river is about 11-m deep with an uneven river bed and swift current, according to nearby residents.

Fourteen students have drowned in the province since the beginning of the year. — VNS
