KHANH HOA — A foreigner believed to be Malaysian was saved by Vietnamese fishermen after drifting out in the sea northwest of Song Tu Tay Island in the commune of the same name in Viet Nam's Truong Sa District, said Khanh Hoa provincial border guards yesterday.
The man, who was saved a week ago and brought on shore on Monday, is staying at the border guards' guest house.
Reported to be in good health, the man, in his early 30s, refused to talk to authorities, even to the Malaysian Consulate in HCM City through the phone. However, he nodded his head when he was shown a Malaysian flag. — VNS
