HCM CITY — A three-day workshop on Fashion As Response will be held from 10am to 4am on November 8 and 10 at Việt Nam Fashion Academy (VFA) on 184 Điện Biên Phủ Street in HCM City’s Bình Thạnh District.

Professor Amanda Hallay from Lim College in New York City will present a lecture about the "Cultural Anatomy of Fashion’s History”.

Hallay is a teacher, author, fashion historian and presenter specialising in the relationship between culture and clothing.

Formerly the Fashion Editor of Couture and Men Mode magazines (and the European Fashion Forecaster for The Doneger Group), Amanda is an international lecturer who develops and presents workshops and micro-courses on Fashion History, Cultural History, Pop Culture (and the relationship among all three) at schools and colleges both in the US and overseas, as well as standalone talks and ‘lunch and learns’ within the fashion, media, advertising and related industries.

The history of fashion is a history of people. During the past century, couturiers and designers laid the foundations of the modern fashion industry that we know today.

The fee for three-day workshop is VNĐ5 million (US$220) with a 10 per cent discount for VFA students. — VNS
