 The New York – headquartered HarperCollins in coordination with the HCM City Books Distribution JSC (Fahasa) on Wednesday opened a children’s book exhibition at Fahasa Bookstore in HCM City to commemorate the publisher’s 200th anniversary.

HCM CITY — The New York – headquartered HarperCollins in coordination with the HCM City Books Distribution JSC (Fahasa) on Wednesday opened a children’s book exhibition at Fahasa Bookstore in HCM City to commemorate the publisher’s 200th anniversary.

On display are more than 2,000 books in foreign languages on education, literature, economy, psychology, and books to help readers to cope with challenges and head for success in their careers and life.

Harpers is known for publishing many famous works, including The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein; Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, Big Nate by Dr. Seuss; Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien; Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin; and All the Light We Cannot See by Richard Doerr, which won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 2015.

In addition, HarperCollins has published books on the economy, psychology and education such as Good to Great; Think Like a Freak; and Alibaba: The House That Jack Ma Built.

HarperCollins publishes books in 17 languages each year. Authors of HarperCollins’ books include winnes of the Nobel, Pulitzer, Newberry and Caldecott Medal and Man Booker awards, according to a Fahasa press release.

The company began in 1817 as a small, family-run printing shop in lower Manhattan. In 1990 Harper acquired Collins Publishers in the UK.

 “We are excited to celebrate this milestone anniversary and give thanks to employees, authors, librarians, booksellers and customers who’ve been instrumental in helping HarperCollins become a part of the global literary culture over the last 200 years,” HarpersCollins’ CEO Brian Murray said.
