HÀ NỘI — The British TNT Theatre is performing in Hà Nội and HCM City from November 13 to 15.
The theatre, including eight artists, performs one of the most famous love stories in the world – Romeo & Juliet.
TNT theatre has gained an international reputation for presenting dynamic, exciting and direct productions of Shakespeare's major works.
Music, powerful choreography and a simple performance style allow a modern audience to experience Shakespeare's great love story.
The play is performed in small theatres requiring the imagination of the audience. Music is played directly with a few energetic artists in rich poetry performance.
The show makers are director Paul Stebbings; music director John Kenny and producer Grantly Marshall.
Musician Kenny has arranged and adapted many baroque vocal and instrumental works which are performed on historical instruments such as baroque violin, alto, tenor, percussion, and organ.
This production tours widely in Europe and China this season and has visited over thirty countries since its premier ten years ago.
TNT Theatre was founded in the 1980's in Britain. The theatre repertoires include Shakespeare's works; and Charles Dickens'. It has performed at many theatres and venues around the world such as the Royal National theatre London; National theatre of Scotland; Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica; National Centre for Performing Arts Beijing; Tokyo Metropolitan arts space and Akademie der Kunst Berlin.
The theatre performed in Việt Nam for the first time in 2009. This is the fifth time it has come to Việt Nam to perform.
The shows begin at 11am and 8pm in Hà Nội on November 13 at Hà Nội Opera House and in HCM City Municipal Theatre on November 15.
Tickets are sold at the theatre ticket box for VNĐ530,000 (US$23). — VNS
