HÀ NỘI — Renowned Vietnamese beatboxer Trần Thái Sơn has won the golden trophy at the Asia Beatbox Championship recently held in Taipei, Taiwan.

Asia Beatbox Championship has been organised since 2016 by Asia Beatbox – an international organisation promoting beatbox culture development in Asia.

Sơn, the Vietnamese representative in the competition, triumphed over Taiwanese beatboxer Tap in the Loopstation category to win first place.

Sharing his happiness on his personal Facebook, Sơn wrote: “I have become the champion of the Asia Beatbox Championship. This trophy is dedicated to Vietnamese beatbox. Thank you for everything.”

Sơn is currently working for the Culture-Union Department of FPT Group. Before the Asia Beatbox Championship, he notched various beatboxing achievements like champion of Omo’s Got Talent, top-eight finalist of Grand Beatbox 2018 and a gold medal at Music Talent 2011.

He has also been the guest of honour on many favourite Vietnamese programmes and gameshows like the Hidden Singer, Sao Mai singing contest, Just the Two of Us and Vietnam’s Got Talent.

In 2017, he won second place at the Asia Beatbox Championship after facing beatboxer Sady from Indonesia in the final. — VNS
