HCM City, Hà Nội win Asia-Pacific tourism awards

The Tourism Promotion Organisation for Asia Pacific Cities’ Best Awards for 2018 have been given to individuals and organisations for significant contributions to the region’s tourism development.

HCM CITY — The Tourism Promotion Organisation for Asia Pacific Cities’ Best Awards for 2018 have been given to individuals and organisations for significant contributions to the region’s tourism development.

Awards were presented in a total of 10 categories at the closing ceremony of the 8th Tourism Promotion Organisation for Asia Pacific Cities Forum last Friday.

They included Best Marketing Campaign, Best Print Advertisement, Best Broadcast Advertisement, Best Festival/Event, Best Promotion CD, Best Tourism Brochure, Best Website, and Best Public Relations Campaign, Best Tourism Industry Leader, and Best Destination Manager.

HCM City and Hà Nội claimed Best Marketing Campaign award for their innovative marketing campaigns.

Best Tourism Industry Leader award went to Datuk Tan Kok Liang from Malaysia’s Kota Kinabalu city while the Best Destination Manager award was won by Kim Sang-yeong from South Korea’s Tongyeong city.

Nguyễn Thị Ánh Hoa, deputy director of the city’s Department of Tourism, said at the ceremony that HCM City’s tourism industry continues to grow strongly and the city has become a popular destination for international tourists.

The two-day forum was a platform for member cities to connect and expand tourism co-operation, she said. —VNS
