HÀ NỘI — Designer Hạ is about to get married to her boyfriend, a mature and caring doctor. Her life seems perfect – until one day, she wakes up beside her ex-boyfriend.

This is how Ngày Ấy Mình Đã Yêu (The Day We Fell In Love) maneouvres audiences towards a love triangle involving Hạ, her ex-boyfriend, and her fiancé. Hạ, the protagonist, has to choose between her peaceful life at present and the emotional memories of the past.

The TV serial draws the participation of leading actors and actresses from the northern and southern regions, such as Nhã Phương, Nhan Phúc Vinh, Chí Thiện, and Bảo Thanh.

A remake of the soap opera Discovery of Love, produced in 2014 by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), the romantic comedy-cum-drama attracted major attention from Korean audiences and won high ratings.

The Việt Nam Feature Film Centre (Việt Nam Television) bought the copyright to remake the series from KBS. However, director Khải Anh said audiences should not expect a scene-by-scene or frame-by-frame reproduction of the original.

“We signed an agreement with KBS to remake and broadcast the film in Việt Nam but the Vietnamese audience will decide the end of the film,” he said. “It’s the beginning of a co-operation between VFC and KBS. In the near future, we will work together to produce another TV series.”

Anh said he expects the show to win audiences’ hearts, with its stunning and beautiful scenes shot in the southern province of Phú Yên.

The series will be broadcast on VTV3 starting June 11. Audiences can also watch the show and behind-the-scene stories on the app VTVGo and the vtvgiaitri.vn website. — VNS
