A free music gala will be held on Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street in downtown HCM City on Saturday night to celebrate the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975)

HCM CITY — A free music gala will be held on Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street in downtown HCM City on Saturday night to celebrate the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975)

The Tuổi Trẻ Việt Nam – Câu Chuyện Hòa Bình (Vietnamese Youth – the Story of Peace) gala will feature more than 100 singers, dancers and musicians.

Pop stars Cẩm Vân and Hồng Nhung will perform with young singers Trung Quân Idol and Vũ Cát Tường. Songs will include Thành Phố Trẻ (Young City) composed by Trần Tiến and Ôi Cuộc Sống Mến Thương (Beloved Life) by Nguyễn Ngọc Thiện.

The music will be played by Hoài Sa Ensemble and Saigon Pops Orchestra under the baton of HBSO’s conductor Trần Nhật Minh.

The concert’s organisers, the Central Association of Vietnamese Youth and Tuổi Trẻ (Youth) Newspaper, said that more than 2,000 local and foreign guests are expected to attend.

The concert will begin at 8pm and will be broadcast later on HCM City Television. — VNS
