HÀ NỘI — New book The Beauty of Taiwan provides a panoramic view of Taiwanese tourism, culture and lifestyle.

The book launch was organised on Monday in Hà Nội on the occasion of a roadshow to promote tourism to Taiwan.

The Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), in co-ordination with the territory’s Tourism Bureau (TTB) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Việt Nam organised the Taiwan Tourism Promotion Programme with the participation of a number of tour operators from Việt Nam and Taiwan. The event saw co-operation agreements signed between the two partners.

Previously, the TTB sent a delegation of 46 representatives from 23 units to Việt Nam to participate in the Việt Nam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2018 in Hà Nội from March 29 to April 1.

In recent years, the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Taiwan has skyrocketed. In 2017, the growth rate of Vietnamese visitors to Taiwan reached 94.94 per cent, the highest level in Southeast Asia in terms of tourism growth, according to Tony Wu, head of the TTB in Bangkok.

“The achievement urged us to publish the book in Vietnamese and English to provide necessary information and introduce new tours to Vietnamese tourists,” he said.

“Taiwanese travel agencies will commit to ensuring and enhancing the quality and diversification of tourism products while creating the most favourable conditions in terms of visa approval for Vietnamese visitors to explore the beauty of this island,” he said.

“The photo book introduces the beauty of Taiwan in various angles, recorded through the lens of artists, writers, journalists and students with multiple levels of emotions. We hope that the book will bring you a true sense of Taiwan.”

During the event, representatives of TTB introduced Taiwanese tourism resources with many attractive destinations such as Mount Alishan, Sun Moon Lake, Qingshui Cliff and the National Palace Museum, as well as specialties of Taiwanese cuisine and culture to travel agents in Việt Nam. — VNS
