NINH BÌNH — The beauty of ASEAN’s people, landscape and cultural diversity is on show at an exhibition in the northern province of Ninh Bình.

The exhibition called ‘Photos, Reportage and Documentary Films of the ASEAN Community in Việt Nam’ features more than 300 photos, nearly 60 reports and documentaries on the ASEAN community.

The opening ceremony was attended by Politburo Member Trương Minh Tuấn, Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyễn Thị Thanh, Secretary of the Ninh Bình Party Committee, Malaysian counsellor Roslan bin Sarif and the Philippines’ Second Secretary Dean Jason Ariola.

The photos, reports and documentaries were chosen from ASEAN countries which attended festivals and competitions from 2010 to 2015 in Việt Nam. The works also feature environmental protection, health and education.

"The exhibition is held in Ninh Bình Province this time helping local people and tourists to the province know more about culture, people, living environment and national characteristics of ASEAN member countries," said Đinh Văn Điến, Chairman of Ninh Bình People’s Committee at the opening ceremony on August 28.

"Ninh Bình Province will continue to popularise the images of the ASEAN community and raise public awareness about the community."

The exhibition also highlights the ASEAN stamp which features the culture, characteristics and spirit of the Vietnamese people and includes "ASEAN Post", the logo designed by a Vietnamese painter and used by ASEAN countries in their joint stamp sets.

The exhibition organizer, the Ministry of Information and Communication, will present all the works to Ninh Bình Province when the event closes. It is being held to mark 50th anniversary of ASEAN’s establishment and 22 years since Việt Nam joined ASEAN. — VNS
