Peru embassy donates books to National Library

As many as 20 books on culture, landscapes, ancestral traditions and customs of Peru were donated to the National Library of Việt Nam on July 26 by the representatives from Peruvian Embassy to Việt Nam.

HÀ NỘI – The Peruvian Embassy to Việt Nam donated 20 books on culture, landscapes, ancestral traditions and customs of Peru to the National Library of Việt Nam on Wednesday.

Speaking at the donation ceremony, Luis Tsuboyama, chief of Peruvian Mission to Việt Nam, said relations between Peru and Việt Nam are strengthening and expanding to include many aspects, from the political and the economic to the cultural and social.

“In this context, the Embassy of Peru has the privilege of donating books to the National Library of Việt Nam, which we believe will contribute to the dissemination of information on Peru’s literature, culture, gastronomy and tourism, and give Vietnamese people access to information and knowledge about our country,” he said.

Kiều Thúy Nga, director of the library, appreciated the donation. “These books will be added to our stock of English and Spanish books on Peru that will help Vietnamese readers understand better this distant country rich in culture, heritage, colours, customs and flavours, and diverse landscapes,” she said. – VNS
