ĐÀ NẴNG — The Empire property investor has launched the Martial Arts-Entertainment Coco Championship at the coastal entertainment-cum-hospitality complex CocoBay in Đà Nẵng.

The event’s organisers said the event will begin hosting Thai Muay tournaments this July till October with music performances and entertainment events on the beach.

The championship aims to draw competitors from home and abroad in matches to entertain tourists on the pristine beaches of the central city.

Johnny Trí Nguyễn, a Vietnamese-American actor, stuntman and martial arts choreographer joined the launching of the event on Wednesday.

Last year, the CocoBay complex also hosted the Cocofest, which drew 10,000 visitors to the two-night performance and entertainment activities on the beach.

Cocofest director, musician Nguyễn Quốc Trung, said the event will add to the city’s regular festivals and create more entertainment opportunities for tourists.

The project, which covers 31ha with total investment of US$622 million, is the first and biggest entertainment centre in the city’s tourism master plan to 2030. — VNS
