HCM CITY — Artisan Mai Đình Tới, dubbed “the witch of musical instruments,” will host two live shows on Sao Việt Stage and Kasa in HCM City on March 25 and March 31, respectively.

These shows mark the beginning of his upcoming national tour.

Aiming at celebrating Tới’s five-year anniversary of receiving the Asian Record recognition granted by the Asian Record Organisation for his unique handmade musical instruments, the shows will showcase the artisan’s unique performances, such as blowing the whistle with his nose and playing music with musical instruments that are made from glass bottles or tree leaves.

Besides this, it is also the first time Tới will perform with his wife on stage, playing traditional musical instruments that have been conceptualised by the artisan himself.

The shows will also be held in various provinces in the central and southwestern regions of Việt Nam.

Tới holds five records, of which three are Vietnamese records and two are Asian records, for performing his unique self-made musical instruments. — VNS
