HÀ NỘI — The band Bad Boys Blue and singer Sandra Ann Lauer will perform in Việt Nam for the first time on the night of March 11 at the National Convention Centre.

The 8pm show comes as part of the international music series Legend Concert. In 2016, the series hosted international stars including Kenny G, Boney M & Chris Norman ex Smokie and Modern Talking ft Thomas Anders.

The show’s organisers have prepared for the event for a year, said production manager Nguyễn Thùy Dương.

“Besides the role of a producer, I am a music lover born in 1970s. Legends like Sandra and Bad Boys Blue are expected to bring unforgetable emotions and youthful nostalgia for those of my generation,” Dương told vnexpress online newspaper.

Bad Boys Blue was formed in 1984 in Cologne, Germany by German producer, Tony Hendrik and his lyricist wife, Karin van Haaren.

The group performed a number of international hits including You’re a Woman, I Wanna Hear Your Heartbeat, Pretty Young Girl, Come Back and Stay, Blue Moon and Lady in Black.

The show will also feature Sandra Ann Lauer, one of the most successful German pop singers: she has sold more than 33 millions records worldwide.

Sandra Ann Lauer, professionally known as "Sandra", is a popular German singer/songwriter currently living in Spain. After enjoying some success as lead singer of the disco trio Arabesque, Sandra began performing under her solo name in 1984.

Her first album, The Long Play (1985), reached number 12 in her home country of Germany. The follow-up single In the Heat of the Night reached number two in Germany and the Top 5 in France. At that time Sandra was acclaimed the "pop princess".
