Top singers to perform in Hà Nội concert

HÀ NỘI — Many of Việt Nam’s A-list singers will perform together in a concert at Hà Nội Opera House on Saturday.

The concert is part of a series of cultural events to celebrate Tết (Lunar New Year) jointly organised by online Tổ Quốc (Fatherland) newspaper and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Singer Đăng Dương will open the concert with Hồi Tưởng (Recall) suite by veteran composer Hoàng Vân. Dương will be accompanied by a choir and dancers.

Other singers include pop diva Mỹ Linh, People’s Artist Thái Bảo, Hồ Quỳnh Hương and Trọng Tấn.

The concert will feature songs praising the beauty of the country, its people and patriotism.

“We don’t sell tickets because this is the first time online Tổ Quốc newspaper organises a concert,” said Nguyễn Thanh Liêm, Tổ Quốc’s editor-in-chief. “We want the concert to be held annually.”
