HCM CITY— The HCM City People’s Committee will hold the fourth annual festival “HCM City - Development and Integration 2016” at the April 30 Park in District 1 on December 1-3.
The festival includes activities from various countries’ cultural houses, a HCM City Foreign Affairs - Development and Integration exhibition, a book introduction, art performances, souvenirs, food, and folk games.
In addition to an “Education – Startup” seminar, the event will also feature the release of balloons and offering of flowers by Vietnamese students to President Hồ Chí Minh at his statue located in downtown HCM City.
Đoàn Tuấn Linh, deputy director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, said on November 15 that the festival would be an opportunity for cultural exchange between foreign communities and the city’s residents.
About 25 foreign consulates and other foreign organisations in the city have registered to take part in the festival, according to the festival’s organisation board.
Many Vietnamese students who have studied abroad and foreign students living and studying in the city will participate in the festival. —VNS
