HÀ NỘI — Contemporary life in Hà Nội is reflected through photos displayed at an on-going exhibition in the capital.

The 125 photos showcased were chosen with a photo contest launched by the Hà Nội Photographic Artists’ Association in June. The association received more than 1,500 entries from about 200 photographers.

No photo met the criteria for top prize. Three first runner-ups included Nguyễn Hoàng Hiển (The Development of Western Hà Nội), Bùi Phương Thảo Nguyên (City of Peace) and Trần Anh Tuấn (Hanoians Welcome Hoàng Xuân Vinh).

Chairman of the association, Đặng Đình An, said the contest and exhibition celebrate the capital’s Liberation Day (October 10) and reflect modern life in the city, the relationship between tradition and modernity, construction, people’s activities and the city’s development.

“The photographers captured remarkable moments such as Olympic winner Hoàng Xuân Vinh coming back from Rio De Janeiro, the development of western Hà Nội, and a ceremony respecting peace of Hà Nội – City of Peace.”

The exhibition runs at Exhibition House, 45 Tràng Tiền Street, Hà Nội. — VNS
