HCM CITY – Brushes and oil are two main tools that Nguyễn Đạm Thủy uses to paint her dream of a green earth.

Sixty-nine of her oil and acrylic paintings at the Giấc Mơ Của Tôi (My Dream) exhibition are now on display at the HCM City Museum of Fine Arts.

Forty-nine of the paintings were created in the last three years.

Some of the paintings are part of her art project called Journey to Protect Natural Heritages, which UNESCO is supporting between 2016 and 2021.

Another 20 paintings in the exhibit represent work completed over her 20-year career, such as Nụ Cười Việt Nam (Vietnamese Smile).

The works depict the artist’s memories of beautiful landscapes and a simple life in her hometown, as well as the daily life of the Vietnamese people.

Thủy, a 1993 graduate of HCM City Fine Arts University, often uses different materials such as oil, watercolour, lacquer and ceramics in her art.

The exhibit can be seen at Fine Arts Museum at 97A Phó Đức Chính Street in District 1 until September 18. –  VNS
