HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội Museum is one of the few museums in Asia listed among the 36 most beautiful museums in the world.

Online magazine Business Insider said Hà Nội Museum’s inverted pyramid has a spiral ramp inside, which brings visitors to every exhibit.

“It is an honour not for only Hà Nội Museum’s staff, but also for culture vultures and all Hanoians,” Nguyễn Tiến Đà, the museum director, said. “The museum will promote culture and exhibition activities to attract tourists."

Located on Phạm Hùng Street, next to the National Conference Centre, Hà Nội Museum is a place where you can reflect on Hà Nội’s past and observe the present with thousands of artefacts relating to the capital.

With more than 50,000sq.m and 12,000sq.m for construction, this is the biggest and the most modern museum in Việt Nam.

The museum has six floors, with the floor area scaled down from top to bottom. It gives visitors a sense of the museum’s modern and convenient design. Tourists can go to other floors by the elevator or by the spiral staircase inside the museum.

The museum is open from 8am to 5pm and entry is free.

The other Asian museums on the list are Thailand’s Erawan Museum, Japan’s National Art Centre and China’s Palace Museum.

Paris’s Louvre Museum, London’s Natural History Museum, Berlin’s Jewish Museum and Washington DC’s National Museum of the American Indian are also on the list. The Royal Ontario Museum, Canada’s largest museum, South America’s oldest museum -- the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts -- and Cape Town’s Iziko Museum, which is the oldest in South Africa, are also listed by Business Insider. — VNS
