QUẢNG BÌNH — Tourists can now enjoy ca trù (ceremonial singing) as part of the Chày River- Dark Cave tour in the central province of Quảng Bình.

Phong Nha - Kẻ Bàng Tourism Centre co-operated with Ca Trù Đông Dương Club of Quảng Trạch District to introduce the unique art form on Saturdays and Sundays to tourists.

Ca trù is an ancient genre of chamber music featuring female vocalists, with origins in northern Việt Nam in the 15th century. It was inscribed on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2009.

After discovering Dark Cave, tourists will enjoy ca trù performance in an ancient house with traditional architecture, where local delicacies will be served. — VNS
