Spanish artist Pablo Mercado will  briefly explain the brain processes that inspired his work and how he develops his ideas to choose a technique that will best serve the concept.

HÀ NỘI – Spanish artist Pablo Mercado will give a talk titled Processes in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

During the talk, the artist will briefly explain the brain processes that inspired his work and how he develops his ideas to choose a technique that will best serve the concept.

"The primary focus of my practice is human memory and in particular how the brain processes and recalls the information to create memories,” the artist said.

 “Through my practice I am creating a connection between these theories and the visual field. I will present some of my previous works as well as the new project, which is still in progress,” he added.

Born in 1983, Mercado studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville in Spain and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia, Italy. He then completed his Master of Arts in creation and research at the Complutense University of Madrid. 

Since 2010, Pablo Mercado has lived and worked in Berlin where he has held solo and group exhibitions. He has also held numerous international exhibitions in Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany, as well as Switzerland, Mexico, Taiwan and South Korea.

His exhibitions have been selected for participation in several residency programmes, such as Contemporary Art Museum MAC Gas Natural Fenosa in Spain, Soulangh Artists Residency in Taiwan, ARE Holland in The Netherlands and Art Studio Gachang in South Korea.

The talk will begin at 3pm at the Heritage Space Library, 1st Floor, Dolphin Plaza, 28 Trần Bình Street. -- VNS
