HCM CITY –   Vietnamese musicians in recent weeks have released new songs praising the beauty of Việt Nam to show their love of country.

Composer and singer Phạm Hồng Phước spent three months writing the song Việt Nam, Đi, Hôn và Yêu (Việt Nam, Go, Kiss and Love). The 25-year-old musician said it was inspired by his trips in the country.

The pop song has a fun melody and its lyrics are about the beauty of Việt Nam’s nature and landscapes.

“As a singer, I’ve had chances to travel to many places in Việt Nam. I’m so proud of our country and people,” said Phước, who became well-known after placing in the top three of Việt Nam Idol in 2012, a Vietnamese version of the US American Idol show.

“The song is great. Its melody is lovely. After listening to the song, I just want to go out and see our country,” said Trương Đình Vũ, a student at HCM City’s Open University.

Phước has also released a music video for the song on YouTube. It was filmed on HCM City’s Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street in District 1, where he and 50 young people sang and dance Việt Nam, Đi, and Hôn và Yêu together.

“It’s time to log out of Facebook. Let’s pack your bags and go,” said Phước, who has written songs to encourage young people to discover the world instead of spending time on social networks.

Like Phước, singer Đại Nhân wanted to produce a music video to introduce Việt Nam’s landscapes to people, especially youth.

Nhân co-wrote with composer Thăng Long the pop song Ngay Lúc Này (Right Now) about a young’s couple’s trip around Việt Nam.

“I think a love story on the video makes it closer to young audiences,” said Nhân, winner of a singing contest for teenagers in the South in 2008.

The 29-year-old singer has released two extended plays and several singles, which have been at the top of local music boards.

The song, produced by QUAD Entertainment, features the voices of Nhân and Trương Thảo Nhi, 22, who is known for taking part in The Voice of Việt Nam in 2013.

The video was filmed near the sea at Hồ Tràm and Hồ Cốc in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Province, and Ninh Thuận Province.

Nhân said that many people had left messages about touring the country after watching his video.

Đức Tuấn, one of the best tenors in the country, has also released his new single Muốn Nghe Tiếng Sóng (Listen to the Waves), a production by composer and producer Võ Thiện Thanh.

Thanh, who is popular for producing chill-out music products for many young singers like Hà Anh Tuấn and Phạm Thu Hà, wrote about his love of Việt Nam’s sea in the song. Its beat is a mixture of classical music with electronic dance music.

The song attracted more than 65,000 listeners on social media websites after only three days.

“Thanh and I want not only to introduce a beautiful song but also to raise people’s awareness on sea protection,” said Tuấn, 36, who rose to fame after winning first prize at the HCM City Television song contest in 2000. – VNS
