HBSO presents Antonin Dvorak’s From the New World

The HCM City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will perform Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” at the HCM City Opera House on July 19.

HCM CITY — The HCM City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will perform Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” at the HCM City Opera House on July 19.

The concert will also feature Pavane, Op. 50 by Gabriel Fauré, Suite Antique for Flute, Harpsichord & Strings by John Rutter, and Sonata for Flute & Orchestra by Francis Poulenc.

Performing with the HBSO will be Strasho Temkov, the principal flautist at the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also a member of the Macedonian Wind Quintet and contemporary music ensemble St. Sofia.

Conductor Lê Phi Phi of HBSO will lead the orchestra.

The concert will open at 8pm at 7 Lam Sơn Square in District 1. Tickets are VNĐ200,000 to VNĐ550,000, and VNĐ80,000 for students. They can be purchased at www.ticketbox.vn. — VNS
