HÀ NỘI -- Pop and semi-classical singer Đức Tuấn has released a special DVD featuring some favourite patriotic songs from many Vietnamese generations.

Entitled Bài Ca Không Quên (Unforgettable Song), the DVD features 11 songs which he previously performed last April at the musical concert of the same name to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Việt Nam’s Reunification Day, April 30.

The concert featured several favourite songs written by famous veteran composers such as Bài Ca Không Quên by Phạm Minh Tuấn, Tình Ca (Love Song) by Hoàng Việt, Lá Đỏ (Read Leaves) by Hoàng Hiệp - Nguyễn Đình Thi, Tự Nguyện (Voluntariness) by Trương Quốc Khánh, and Nơi Đảo Xa (Faraway Islands) by Thế Song.

A glorious and magnanimous period of the nation, from when the country was split into North and South in 1954, to the fierce American War over nearly 20 years, and to the globe-shaking victory over America on April 30, was replicated through the songs performed by Tuấn and guest singers as well as through the vivid stories of historical witnesses during the concert.

The best performances of the concert were recorded to feature on the DVD, which is part of Tuấn’s music project Unforgettable Song that kicked off at the beginning of last year. Before the DVD, the singer also introduced a CD of the same name featuring 15 patriotic songs. – VNS
