On the occasion of the 37th National Day of Iran on February 11, Viet Nam News presents a message from Saleh Adibi, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

February 11 marks the 37th Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. After over 100 years, the Islamic movement of the Iranian people entered a new phase on February 11, 1979 by establishing an Islamic Republic system based on the religious and cultural values of the nation.

Independence, freedom and the Islamic Republic were the most important pillars of the revolution. Under the leadership of Hazrat Ayatollah Khamenei, the country retains religious democracy, independence and the fundamental pillars of the revolution.

Since the presidential election in mid 2013, significant successes have been achieved through strengthening national unity, boosting the economy and heightening the country's role in the international arena.

In foreign policy, our country's popular President Dr. Rohani has a pragmatic and realistic approach. His government has spared no efforts to consolidate relations with the world, especially with regional, neighbouring and NAM countries.

Iran adheres to the principles of independence, mutual respect, equality, detente, regional integration, advancement of peace, stability, security and justice, promotion of international understanding through dialogues and fighting against extremism and radicalism that threatens our neighbours and the world.

As you know, nuclear negotiations between Iran and Group P5+1 have been concluded with acceptable results, and Iran, with a policy based on negotiations, managed to achieve what it has been looking for.

On the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Western countries recognised our country's nuclear rights and now a new era of regional and international co-operation between Iran and all countries in the world has started. In the post-sanction era, we will pay special attention to developing relations with all countries, particularly friendly countries, one of which is Viet Nam.

Iran, as the heir of an ancient civilisation, possesses a rich cultural identity and unique customs. With its variety of historical and natural attractions, a lot of recognised World Heritages, diversity of traditions and hospitality, Iran is a haven for tourists and one of the most secure and safe countries in the region and the world.

Iran-Viet Nam's 42-year-old political relations have been growing smoothly and positively. Both sides have maintained sound co-ordination in international affairs. Common interests and viewpoints as well as promising political, economic and cultural potentials have increased the possibility of all-out development of relations more than ever.

Numerous mutual visits of the two countries' leaders have been made, of which the visit to Iran by the honorable Deputy Prime Minister of Viet Nam Nguyen Xuan Phuc in October 2014 was the latest to serve as a springboard to promote our co-operative ties. Agreements signed during this visit and other deals signed between the two countries in the past years have provided a proper framework for boosting bilateral relations in all fields.

It seems high ranking political and trade delegations as well as mutual visits by people and tourists from the two countries will increase. We hope to witness significant development in bilateral relations in all fields by increasing decisive support from leaders of Iran and Viet Nam as well as the willingness of people and private sectors for further co-operation.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ha Noi will make every effort to materialise the will of the leaders and people of the I.R. Iran and S.R. Viet Nam on the comprehensive development of relations.

As we embrace the coming New Year, I look forward to deeper co-operation and friendship between our two countries, and to use our relationship and friendship for the betterment of all. — VNS
