HCM CITY (VNS) — The Banh Tet (sweetened cake of glutinous rice) offering ceremony for the Hung Kings has been organised by the HCM City People's Committee and Viet Nam Fatherland Front.

The event, which was held on the occasion of the Vietnamese Teat festival, took place on February 5 at the Hung Kings Memorial Monument in the National Cultural History Park, District 9, HCM City.

The Banh Tet offering ceremony features the traditional and spiritual rituals of the South Vietnamese people. The sweetened cakes offered to the Hung Kings are selected from among the best cakes made in the southern region.

The ceremony is one of the city's annual activities, held to celebrate the national Tet festival, promote the people's solidarity and encourage patriotism amongst the youth and the citizens of HCM City. — VNS
