HA NOI (VNS) — A night of Swedish jazz, Lyrical & Cooking, performed by the trio Hakan Rydin, will be performing at Don's–A Chef's Bistro Ha Noi on October 21.

The trio is comprised of Hakan Rydin, a Swedish jazz professor and piano artist, Sweden's Mattias Hjorth on bass and Hung Cuong of Viet Nam on drums.

After graduating from university with a major in jazz education, Hakan began his music career in 1978. In 2005, the trio's CD, Tender Silhouette, was issued by Japan's Marshmallow Records and gained four of five stars by Tokyo's Swing Journal magazine.

His next CDs were issued in 2007 and 2013.

Hakan has recently had many contributions to Vietnamese jazz. He is a teacher who teaches Vietnamese artists at Malmo Academy of Music in Sweden. He has come to Viet Nam six times and taught a master class of jazz at Viet Nam National Academy of Music. — VNS
