HA NOI (VNS) — Panama and Viet Nam have maintained diplomatic and fraternal relations excellently, not only in political, commercial and maritime arenas but also in culture.
The year 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Republic of Panama (28/08/1975-2015).
To commemorate the event and in order for Vietnamese people to learn more about the culture of Panama, the Embassy of Panama in Viet Nam, represented by Ambassador Servio S. Samudio B., in co-ordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam and the Viet Nam Performing Arts Centre, organised a performance by the Azuero Regional Folkloric Group, University of Panama. Performances took place in Ha Noi Opera House, Hai Phong Opera House and Viet Nhat Workers Cultural Palace in Quang Ninh Province on August 28-30.
The Embassy of Panama plans to organise various activities including a photo exhibition and film screenings at the Viet Nam National Library (31 Trang Thi Street) and Ha Noi Cinematheque (22A Hai Ba Trung Street), respectively.
The photo exhibition entitled Enjoy Panama, displaying images of Panama and Panamanian people, will be held from October 26-30, while three Panamanian films The Wind and the Water, Breaking the Waves, and The Fists of a Nation will be screened between November 6-8.
