HCM CITY (VNS)  — A new programme for youth aged four to 15 will kick off this week to discover talented singers.

Pop star My Linh, her staff and the band Anh Em Records are the creators of the programme, called Young Hit Young Beat – Young Talents, that will produce reality shows and also organise live performances in major cities.

The producers, including talented composers Huy Tuan and Anh Quan, will select the 10 best contestants.

The contestants will be invited to sing on recordings after receiving special training.

"We want to support children and teenagers who love music and have the ability to develop a career," said Linh in an interview with local media before the launch of the programme in HCM City yesterday.

Candidates will be chosen in rounds organised from June 28 to July 7 in Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City.

Thirty contestants will participate in the semi-final expected to begin in HCM City on August 3.

Ten finalists will perform at a music gala to be broadcast live on the channel Kids & Family TV.

Audience votes will determine the top prize-winner. The prizes are worth a total of VND500 million (US$25,000). — VNS
