Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra to perform on February 3

HA NOI (VNS) — A jazz concert celebrating the establishment of the Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra will be held on February 3 at the Viet Nam Youth Theatre.

The concert is being held in honour of the orchestra's leaders and young Japanese musicians who have come to Viet Nam to hold auditions for Vietnamese musicians.

The musicians will play jazz standards and newer pieces on pianos, saxophones, trombones, electric bases and drums.

Three Vietnamese musicians will attend auditions held on February 2 at the Viet Nam Youth Theatre. They will be judged by a Japanese panel.

The Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra will consist of young musicians from ASEAN countries and Japan. From ASEAN countries, 16 musicians will be selected by auditions. The selected musicians will train in Japan in the summer. They will perform in ASEAN countries and Japan in autumn. — VNS
