HA NOI (VNS) — Australian band The Love Junkies will perform with two local bands, namely The Offensive and Cat (The Sand),tomorrowin Ha Noi, promising an unforgettable night for local rock fans.
Take a dose of the late 60s soul grooves, a shot of delta blues, add a hefty dash of grunge, light it all up with a short fuse, and there you have the newest rising stars from Perths exploding rock scene,The Love Junkies.
The indie rock band, which performed at Asias biggest music industry fest in Singapore last weekend, is coming to Ha Noi with the support of CAMA and the Australian Embassy.
Nick Greenfield from CAMA ATK said: "Were excited to have The Love Junkies join us for the showcasing of some of the best new talent Australia and Viet Nam have to offer."
"Were thankful for the ongoing support of the Australian Embassy, which allows us to bring new music to Vietnamese audiences and provide opportunities for Vietnamese bands to perform alongside great international acts like The Love Junkies," he added.
"The visit by The Love Junkies is a part of our cultural programme which aims to strengthen people-to-people links between Australia and Viet Nam. We are excited to introduce new music to Viet Nam and are very pleased to be able to support other Australian charity organisations in Viet Nam at the same time," First Secretary at the Australian Embassy in Ha Noi Angela Pickett said.
The embassy is also assisting KOTO, an Australian charity organisation, to run a barbeque at the concert with all proceeds to go to the school which provides hospitality training to underprivileged Vietnamese youth.
During their time in Viet Nam, The Love Junkies will also visit the Blue Dragon Childrens Foundation, an Australian charity that reaches out to kids in crisis throughout Viet Nam. The band will be working with Blue Dragon kids to compose a song which is expected to be releasedfor sale to generate an income for the childrens foundation.
The Love Junkies music is an explosion of hooky melodies, loud-thumping drums and grunge guitar. The band began its journey in late 2009 and, since then, has released an album and two EPs, winningthree Western Australian Music Awards in 2013.
