HOI AN (VNS) – A series of performances has been organised for the New Year party in the ancient city of Hoi An.

Lanterns have been hung along the main streets and the banks of the Hoai River.

The city has also launched the Spring Flowers Festival, and glutinous cakes are being made for poor children on the Lantern Festival day.

A fireworks display is scheduled for the New Year's Eve night, while a boat race will be held on the Hoai River on New Year's day.

The end of the Hoi An Lunar New Year festival, which falls in February, will be the beginning of the 6th Lantern Festival show in the city. — VNS
