THUA THIEN HUE (VNS)— Fifteen veteran artists with close ties to Hue are showcasing their paintings in an exhibition which opened on Sunday in the former royal city.
All of the artists exhibited either live, were born, or studied in Hue and retain a strong bond with the city.
According to artist Dang Mau Tuu, chairman of local Association of Culture and Art Union, the artists from localities like Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, and HCM City brought their paintings to the exhibition to celebrate the 30th birthday of local Song Huong (Perfume River) Magazine.
For years, the magazine has served as an art playground for artists, researchers and art lovers in Hue and for Hue natives in other localities, thus the art community is continually thankful for it, Tuu explained.
The exhibition shows 30 acrylic and oil paintings, depicting memories of Hue, the city's landscape and the locals mentality.
The exhibition runs until June 22. Entrance is free for all visitors. — VNS
