Homestay tourism launched in My Son

Update: May, 17/2013 - 10:12

Visitors to the central province of Quang Nam can experience the local culture in My Son Village in Duy Xuyen District through a new community tourism model.

The community-based tourism village was inaugurated by the International Labour Organisation and Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Tuesday.

It has 237 families and is located close to the world cultural heritage site of My Son.

With 40 of the families taking part in it, the home-stay experience opens a new channel for sustainable tourism development at the heritage site.

To ensure its effectiveness, locals have been taught basic English and given lessons in first aid and environmental protection.-VNS
