Art festival proceeds help buy musical instruments for poor

HCM CITY (VNS)— A dance, music and art festival to raise money to buy musical instruments for needy children will open at the outdoor bar Saigon Outcast on May 25.

The two-day festival will include live music performances and Latin, contemporary and hip hop dance by Vietnamese and international performers and DJs, and live visual installation artist Crazy Monkey (Le Thanh Tung). All-day exhibitions feature photographs, woodcut prints, lamps, clothing and illustrations.

All profits will be used to buy musical instruments for the District 3-based Tephan School for physically impaired children and the Tan Phu District-based Thien An School for visually impaired children.

The event will take place from 12pm to 11pm at 188/1 Nguyen Van Huong in District 2. Admission is VND30,000. — VNS
