HA NOI (VNS)-- Nguyen Tram Anh, a third grader at Doan Thi Diem Primary School in Ha Noi, won first prize in a photo contest for her photo Em Tuoi Cay ("I water plants").
Denmark Ambassador John Nielsen presented Anh with the award at an exhibition titled A Snapshot of Children Challenging Climate Change and Saving Energy jointly held in Ha Noi by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Trade and the Denmark Embassy in Viet Nam. The exhibition ends on Sunday.
Second prize went to Le Huy, a fifth grader at Nguyen Du Primary School, for his photo Tat Den Sau Khi Hoc Xong (Lights off after Homework) and third prize was given to Dang Hai Anh, a third grader at Doan Thi Diem School.
"Although we had to name winners, to me all the children who participated in the contest are winners at heart for joining together to act against climate change," Nielsen said. "Looking at these photos, I see a very clear message: we can either continue with business as usual, or we can choose the green path. The photos tell us how we need to change. Small things can lead to big results."
