Members of the US Tour Operators Association (USTOA) said Viet Nam would place second in their 2013 list of off-the-beaten path countries.
With political reforms and a new open-door policy, Myanmar was named the most interesting tourism spot. Peru, Cambodia, Brazil and China are also on the list, in that order.
Founded in 1972, USTOA is a national organisation that educates government agencies and the public about vacation packages and tour operators.
In the association's 2012 list, Viet Nam was selected as the first choice for tourists, followed by India, Ecuador and China.-VNS
