Update: December, 05/2012 - 10:41

HCM CITY (VNS)— The former Saigon Open City, which operated from 2005 to 2007, has reopened a space for contemporary art with its maiden exhibit Sinh (Birth) by artist Nguyen Van Tien.

The programme features community interaction between artists, communities, businesspeople, sponsors and collectors.

Saigon Open City is a non-profit space where knowledge, points of view and creativity in fine arts convene and exchange views.

In Tien's exhibit, the viewers improvise and build the conceptual space and its symbols.

The aim of the piece, according to the artist, is to revive creative energy in an atmosphere of exchange and dialogue.

Tien's exhibit is supported by Goethe-Institut HCM City. It can be seen at Mai's Gallery, 3A Ton Duc Thang Street in District 1, until Saturday. — VNS
